Dear Members of the Korea Gerontological Society,
Hello?
As COVID-19 lasted more than a year, our society's focus has been on preventing the spread of infectious diseases, and as a result, the current lifestyle has changed rapidly. Wearing a mask has become a necessity, family meetings have been restricted, and daily life restrictions have greatly changed our health, employment, education, and the economy altogether. Thanks to the recent successful development of the COVID-19 vaccine, expectations for overcoming the crisis and returning to our daily lives are slowly but surely increasing worldwide.
In the post-COVID 19 era, we are providing a forum for communication to share experiences and opinions of established and emerging scholars and field experts under the theme of “How has the life of the elderly changed due to the prolonged corona? -Restoration of daily life and a new beginning” at this first half-year conference. This conference in particular is expected to be more rich and more fruitful of an event as major institutions that plan and implement Korea's health and welfare policies are participating together with their research, such as the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs, the Korea Intelligent Information Society Agency, etc. This coming conference consists of the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs joint policy seminar to seek productive criticism and solutions for the "4th Basic Plan for Low Fertility and Aging Society", a session by the Korea Intelligent Information Society Agency on the topic of using information and communication technology for life in old age, a keynote lecture discussing the changes and perspectives on life in old age based on the results of the COVID-19 and social health survey, a session to discuss solidarity plans for life change and welfare in old age in an age-integrated society, a large national research project conducted over the past ten years, a session on social networks and health of Korean elderly, a field expert session on the direction of care for the elderly in the post-corona era and job tasks for the elderly, and other exciting and various sessions such as free presentation sessions and poster sessions.
This academic conference will also be held in a non-face-to-face fashion through YouTube Live and Zoom due to the social distancing policies, but regardless, we would like to ask for your active interest and participation.
